Rainy season "San Qiao" scientific pesticide application

<

In selecting the right pesticides, it's essential to consider their absorption and persistence characteristics. On one hand, systemic pesticides such as monocrotophos, methamidophos, phosphorothioic acid, insecticidal flea, leaf dry fungus, carbendazim, diuron, thiophanate, triadimefon, tricyclazole, fluconazole, and others are highly effective. These products are quickly absorbed by plant stems and leaves and then distributed throughout the plant, making them less affected by rain. On the other hand, non-systemic but highly penetrating pesticides like 1605, methyl 1605, trichlorfon, quinoxaline, diflubenzuron, methoxyfen, copper sulfate, and dexamethasone are suitable for use during rainy seasons due to their strong surface adhesion and resistance to erosion. For instance, Ye Lingling can induce a systemic effect within two hours of application, while phosphamidans can enter plants rapidly, with about 50% of the dose entering plant tissues within an hour. Similarly, tricyclazole shows good efficacy even if applied just before or after rainfall. Additionally, quick-acting pesticides with strong knockdown effects, such as anti-inhibitory agents, speed-catch, mixed dioxin, methomyl, kwongwei, neovicarb, cotton boll, de-lingling, Xinguang No. 1, and pyrethroids, are recommended. These products act swiftly to control pests and diseases, reducing the risk of wash-off due to rain. According to reports, aphids can be eliminated within minutes of application. When applying pesticides during the rainy season, timing is crucial. This period often sees a surge in pests, weeds, and crop diseases in field crops, fruit trees, and vegetables. It’s best to spray when no rain is expected. If rain occurs within 24 hours of spraying, reapplication is necessary, and the concentration should be slightly reduced to avoid waste and ensure effectiveness. Another important technique is mixing. Adding adhesives such as soybean powder, polyvinyl alcohol, or leather glue to the pesticide solution enhances its adhesion to plant surfaces, improving coverage and control efficiency. This practice is especially beneficial in wet conditions, where standard sprays may easily wash away. By combining these strategies—smart selection, timely application, and proper mixing—farmers can maximize the effectiveness of their pesticide use while minimizing environmental impact.
