Rainy season "San Qiao" scientific pesticide application

<

In selecting the right pesticides, it's essential to consider their absorption and penetration properties. On one hand, systemic pesticides such as monocrotophos, methamidophos, phosphorothioic acid, insecticidal flea, leaf dry fungus, carbendazim, diuron, thiophanate, triadimefon, tricyclazole, fluconazole, and others are highly effective. These products are quickly absorbed through plant stems and leaves and then distributed throughout the plant, making them less affected by rain. On the other hand, non-systemic but highly penetrating pesticides like 1605, methyl 1605, trichlorfon, anti-influenza quinoxaline, diflubenzuron, methoxyfen, green copper lactone, and dexamethasone are ideal for rainy seasons due to their strong surface adhesion and erosion resistance. For instance, Ye Lingling can produce a systemic effect within two hours of application, while phosphamidans can enter plant tissues rapidly, with about 50% of the dose absorbed within an hour. Tricyclazole, for example, shows no significant reduction in efficacy even after 30 minutes or one hour post-spraying. Additionally, fast-acting pesticides with strong knockdown effects—such as anti-inhibitory agents, speed-killing compounds, mixed dioxin, methomyl, kwongwei, neovicarb, cotton boll, de-lingling, Xinguang No. 1, and pyrethroids—are recommended. These act quickly to control pests and diseases, reducing the risk of wash-off caused by rain. Studies show that aphids can be eliminated within minutes after application. During the rainy season, when crops, insects, and weeds are most active, careful timing of pesticide application is crucial. Spraying should be done during dry periods, and if rain occurs within 24 hours, reapplication is necessary, with a reduced concentration to ensure better coverage and effectiveness. Another important technique is the use of adjuvants—substances added to the pesticide mixture to improve its adherence to plant surfaces. Common adjuvants include soybean powder, polyvinyl alcohol, and leather glue, which help enhance the sticking power of the spray and increase the overall effectiveness of pest control. By combining these strategies, farmers can optimize pesticide use and achieve better results even in challenging weather conditions.
