As we approach the final stretch with Peanut #3, I thought it would be fun to share some of the inspiration behind our shared master bedroom and nursery nook. It's slowly starting to come together, and we're trying to keep it both soothing and sophisticated while still maintaining functionality and a touch of whimsy.

For context, we decided not to create a separate nursery this time around. Our babies usually stay in our room for several months, so we've designated this area as a "nursery nook." We want it to feel harmonious with the rest of our bedroom but also meet all the practical needs we’ll need in the coming months.

I’ve been working on decluttering and organizing the space. For instance, I’ve already repurposed our old dresser for the baby’s clothes, and I’ve even gone through our entire closet—again! There’s something about nesting that makes you want to clean everything. One of the first projects we tackled was updating our bedside tables. I had envisioned sleek, modern white lacquered nightstands, but they were surprisingly hard to find at a reasonable price. Instead of breaking the bank, I decided to get creative. We bought two square Expedit shelving units from IKEA and modified them to create the exact look I had in mind. By using only the top and two sides, we ended up with a minimalist, stylish design that fits perfectly in the space. Bonus: it was way cheaper than buying pre-made nightstands!

Of course, there’s still a lot to do. I need to finalize some wall art ideas, decide which pieces from our dream board I can realistically acquire before baby arrives, and maybe find a few affordable alternatives if needed. Time is ticking—we’re less than five weeks away from the due date—but I’m feeling motivated to get everything sorted out. Waiting for that late-pregnancy energy to kick in has been tricky, but I’m determined to make progress while I can!
