Four misunderstandings of feeding and management of winter broilers

<

First, reluctant to keep warm

In recent years, the price of coal and other fuels has soared, and the cost of insulation for winter broilers has also increased. Some chicken farmers do not have enough awareness of warmth in the process of raising broilers and the temperature in the house rises less than the required temperature. It has a great influence on the production performance of broilers. The low temperature affects the absorption of the yolk and the chicks have a high mortality rate. Low temperatures can also cause broilers to die together due to cold temperatures. Three days before the chicks were housed, the temperature in the house was controlled at 34.5°C-35°C. After the chickens enter the house, the temperature rises 1°C-2°C. The first week's temperature is preferably 35°C-36°C. At this time, the birds are in good condition, lively and spirited, evenly distributed, free in movement and normal in diet. At the same time, attention should be paid to changes in chickens in time to adjust the temperature, if the chickens clustered, "叽叽" chatter, shrinking head, etc., indicating that the temperature is too low, should increase the temperature within the premises; if there is open mouth breathing, frequent drinking water, etc. If the temperature is too high, reduce the internal temperature. Decrease to 30°C-32°C at 2 weeks of age, to 26°C-28°C at 3 weeks of age, and then to a constant temperature of 23°C for 1 week

Second, only pay attention to insulation, neglect ventilation

Winter is cold and the house is highly confined. Breeders tend to forget about the importance of ventilation. The ammonia concentration in the chicken house is very high, which can easily cause a series of problems such as respiratory tract and ascites in broilers, causing a series of problems such as poor weight gain and respiratory diseases in broilers. In order to keep the doors and windows from becoming insular, the doors and windows are kept airtight, resulting in the accumulation of carbon monoxide and gas poisoning. Because of the volatility and irritation of ammonia gas, if a large amount of ammonia gas is produced in the chicken house, it will be perceived by the first time. When the smell of ammonia was smelled, the ammonia in the house had already exceeded the standards.

Third, ignore the prevention of stress

When winter is a shortage of electricity, the problem of blackouts is often encountered. Some farming households turn on the lights in the dark, keeping broilers in uninterrupted light. In the event of a sudden power outage, chickens are susceptible to panic, crowding, and piles, causing large numbers of broilers to squeezing each other to death. Unnecessary loss occurred. It is advisable not to turn off the lights immediately after dark, and allow one or two hours of darkness to adapt to the flock and avoid sudden power failures to bring great stress.

When the Spring Festival arrives, the sound of setting off firecrackers will also cause great stress on the flock. It is best not to set fireworks and bamboos next to the chicken house.

Fourth, the problem of thick dunnage

Many articles have mentioned the problem of thick dunnage, and it is considered feasible. However, I think it is worth discussing. In the case of broiler breeders with shorter ages, such as the white chickens listed on more than 40 days, thick litter can be used; however, it is easy to make litter for high quality yellow chickens that are usually kept in the same age without changing the litter. The concentration of ammonia gas in the compaction and chicken house is large, and the humidity in the house is high, which easily triggers respiratory disease and ascites in broilers. Excessive humidity is conducive to the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms and can easily induce coccidiosis.
