The new nanopump leverages advanced microfluidic MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology, which allows for highly accurate control over insulin dosing. It mimics the natural secretion process of insulin from pancreatic islets more effectively than traditional methods, while also incorporating features that detect potential malfunctions, ensuring patient safety. This level of precision and reliability makes it a promising alternative to conventional insulin pumps. One of the key advantages of this design is its small size—only one-fourth the size of existing insulin pumps—making it more convenient for daily use.
