There are three types of common potato virus diseases.

Mosaic type

The leaf chlorophyll is unevenly distributed, showing dense greenish greenish or yellow-green intercropped mosaics. When severe, the leaves are shrunk, the whole plant is dwarfed, and sometimes the veins are transparent;

Necrotic

Brown necrotic plaques may appear in leaves, veins, petioles, branches and stems, and the lesions develop into necrotic streaks. In severe cases, the whole leaves die or wilting off;

Roll leaf type

The leaves are turned inward along the main vein or from the edge, hardening and leathery. In severe cases, each leaflet is cylindrical. In addition, there is a composite infection, resulting in stripe necrosis in the potato.

Control method

(1) Using non-toxic seed potatoes, all localities should establish a non-toxic seed potato breeding base. The original seed fields should be located at high latitudes or high altitudes, and the diseased potatoes should be eliminated by various testing methods to promote the detoxification of stem tip tissues. The field can also obtain seed potatoes through two seasons or summer sowing.

(2) Cultivate or utilize disease-resistant or disease-resistant varieties in areas with streak mosaic disease and common mosaic disease, and choose Pulsatilla, Fengshoubai, Epidemic, Zhengshu 4, Wumeng 601, and Pixel 161-2 , Dongnong 303, E Potato No. 1, E Potato No. 2, Kexin No. 1 and Guanghong No. 2 and other resistant varieties.

(3) The streak mosaic virus that is used to control aphids in time before and after emergence, especially by aphids for non-persistent transmission, should be better guarded. See the book Locust Control Act for use.

(4) Improve cultivation measures. Including leaving the farmland away from the vegetable garden; removing the diseased plant early; implementing intensive cultivation, high ridge cultivation, timely soil cultivation; avoiding partial application of nitrogen fertilizer, increasing application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer; paying attention to cultivating and weeding; controlling autumn water and preventing flooding.
