Trace element supplementation method for pigs

<

In pig production, we all know the important role of feeds such as protein feed and carbohydrates on pigs, and pay attention to the supply of fish meal, blood meal, bean cake, cotton cake, corn, sorghum, bran, etc. in the diet of pigs. However, some have neglected the supply of "micronutrients" for nutrients, leading to the development of pigs with impeded growth and reduced reproductive capacity. During the growth and reproduction of pigs, trace amounts of trace elements, such as iron, copper, cobalt, iodine, zinc, magnesium, and selenium, play an extremely important role. To this end, the important roles they played in the growth and reproduction of pigs and their supplemental methods are described below. Iron: It is one of the components of pig's hemoglobin, myoglobin, and various oxidases. The amount of iron stored in the piglets of newborns and the iron content of sow's milk are very few. In addition to getting iron from milk, lactating piglets are prone to anemia if they cannot obtain iron from other sources. The method of supplementing iron is to scoop up the deep soil of the red soil and sprinkle it in the corner of the pigsty to allow the piglets to feed freely. In the place where there is no laterite, some soil can be dug out of the deep soil, and then iron and copper solution (2.5 g of ferrous sulfate and 1 g of copper sulfate, dissolved in 100 ml of clean water) can be added to produce large chunks of broad beans. After drying, put them in the trough so that the piglets can feed freely. Copper: Copper catalyzes the formation of hemoglobin in pigs and is related to bone development and normal metabolism of the central nervous system. It is a component and activator of various enzymes in pigs. If pigs are short of copper, add 2 mg of copper sulphate per kilogram of feed. Feed more and prone to poisoning. Cobalt: Cobalt is a component of vitamin B12. If there is a lack of cobalt, it will affect the metabolism of iron. The demand for cobalt in pigs is minimal, and adding fifteenths of a millionth of cobalt chloride or cobalt sulfate to feed can promote growth and development. Manganese: Manganese promotes the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus in pigs and accelerates the formation of bones. To solve the problem of Mn deficiency in pigs: feed more wheat bran, oats and green feed. When the green and winter feed is lacking in the winter and spring seasons, some manganese-rich sprout feeds are fed. Iodine: In the absence of iodine in pigs, the main manifestations are thyroid swelling, decreased metabolic function, impeded growth and development, and loss of reproductive ability. When it is severely lacking, it will also cause death. If the pregnant sow lacks iodine, it can easily produce stillborn or produce hairless piglets. Control methods: About 10 days before the sow gets litter, salt containing 0.02% potassium iodide is added to the sow mixed feed at a rate of 1%. Zinc: Zinc is a metal element that constitutes a carbonic acid hydrolase. Carbonic acid hydrolyzing enzymes play a role in catalyzing the synthesis and decomposition of carbonic acid in the body. If there is a lack of zinc in the feed, it can easily lead to skin irritation, scarring, and hair loss until it stops growing. When this symptom was found, 10 grams of zinc sulfate could be added to 100 kg of dry mixed feed. The symptoms disappeared after 7 days of feeding. Magnesium: Magnesium is an essential element of bone mass and plays a role in activating various enzymes in the body. When the supply of magnesium is insufficient, bone calcification is abnormal, growth and development are poor, and neurogenic tremors are prone to occur. Often fed some mixed feed can meet the pig's need for magnesium. Selenium: White muscle disease often occurs in selenium deficiency in piglets. After this disease occurs, feeding conditions should be immediately improved, and sodium selenite should be used in combination with the preparation. Piglets supplemented with selenium should be used with vitamin E at the same time.
