In order to accelerate the development of China's material industry, the country plans to list the “New Material Industry System Construction” as a major national special project. The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering have initiated the project of “Building Biomedical Material Industry System”.

The project consists of two parts: structural materials and functional materials. Functional materials establish five topics, one of which is biomedical materials. After deliberation and decision by the expert group, biomedical materials are planned to focus on the development of subordinate fields: orthopedic plastic surgery materials, implantable devices and medical metal materials; cardiac and cerebrovascular system repair materials and implanted devices; medical high-end consumables and medical polymer materials; Advanced clinical diagnostic materials and devices such as imaging agents and biosensors; implant materials and devices for oral and maxillofacial surgery; tissue regeneration materials and tissue engineering products; blood purification materials and extracorporeal circulation systems (artificial organs); Sexual assessment technology and standards; advanced manufacturing methods for biomedical materials and devices.

It was recently learned that the "New Materials Industry System Construction" biomedical material special panel has issued a biomedical materials questionnaire to the industry. The survey form was collected on January 6th.
