Swine erysipelas is an acute, heat-borne infection of pigs caused by brontoalveolar bacillus, commonly known as "hot stamping." Pigs from 3 months of age to 1 year old are susceptible to the disease, and they have a high incidence in the summer and autumn. They are endemic or distributed, mainly through gastrointestinal infection. Blood-sucking insects can also spread the disease. The main invasive pigs with a shelf life of 20-65kg are highly contagious and have a high mortality rate. In the 28 years of clinical practice, the author used a combination of Chinese and Western medicine methods to treat 56 cases of swine erysipelas pigs, cure 55 cases, and achieved a good therapeutic effect, are summarized as follows for reference by peers.

1 Clinical symptoms

Loss of appetite at the beginning of illness, lack of energy, body temperature 41.5 ~ 42 °C, do not want to stand, lying on the ground, vomiting, no food, conjunctival hyperemia, dry stool, short yellow urine, pulse increase. One to two days after onset, dark red-sized squares, rhombuses, or cysts that slightly protruded from the skin surface appeared on the skin of the dorsal, thoracic, cervical, and extremities. 2 treatment

2.1 principles of treatment of anti-bacterial anti-inflammatory, detoxification, fever and swelling.

2.2 Therapeutic procedures (1) Western medicine: Use 2 to 3 penicillin (800,000 IU) and 1 to 2 analgin (20% and 10 ml) intramuscularly twice a day. (2) Chinese herbs (fresh herbs): Rhubarb 150g, silver vine 300g, dandelion: 200g, plantain 200g, Jianshui, 3 times a day orally. (3) Method: First intramuscular injection of penicillin and metamizol, and then use the above-mentioned excavation of fresh Chinese herbal decoction orally.

3 typical cases

Case 1 On the morning of September 5, 2003, Fang, a member of the second group of Zhengan Village, Bian Township, came to seek treatment. On the second day of referral, the pig began to eat, and two days after the original dose, the appetite returned to normal. The needle was stopped and the Chinese herbal medicine was continued to be used for 2 days to heal.

Case 2 In the afternoon of April 16, 2005, Tangmou, a former member of the 5th group of Fuhua Village in Fuxing Town, called and said that a pig in his family did not eat, and his body was full of many defects. He had never seen the disease and asked for treatment. Clinical symptoms: The pig weighed about 40kg, was restless, lying on the ground, eyes reddened, body temperature 42 °C, fecal spherical, urine short yellow, back, chest, neck, lateral extremities, etc., the skin appears dark red size is not Such as round rash block. The diagnosis was erysipelas. Two 800,000 IU of penicillin, 20% of eminopyram, 10 ml, intramuscular injection, orally taken Chinese herbs. On the second day of referral, the pig's spirit improved, there was an action to eat, and the injection continued. The drug was returned after 3 days of oral administration. The appetite returned to normal and the needle was stopped. The livestock owner was required to continue serving the herbal medicine for 2 days to heal.

4 Summary and experience

4.1 Porcine erysipelas is an acute infectious disease. In clinical practice, except for the most acute sudden death without symptoms, the rash type appears. The author adopted the above methods of combination of Chinese and Western medicine and the cure rate was above 98%.

4.2 Fangzhong: Rhubarb has a bitter cold, diarrhea fever, swelling, and laxative as the main drug; Yinhuateng detoxifies and clears the heat, activates the meridians, dandelion clears heat, detoxifies, dissolves inflammation, and psyllium removes heat to diuresis. Four drugs combined with diarrhea heat purge, heat detoxification, anti-bacterial anti-inflammatory, swelling and diuretic effects.

4.3 The drug sources such as soil rhubarb, silver flower vine, dandelion and plantain are widely available, and the fields and roadsides are easy to excavate. This can not only solve the problem of difficulty in obtaining drugs in remote mountain areas, but also reduce the economic burden of raising livestock farmers.

To sum up, Chinese and Western medicine has a good effect on the treatment of swine erysipelas. These Chinese herbal medicines are easy to excavate and have good results. They do not delay the pathogenesis and do not spend money. The masses welcome it. In clinical practice, the lighter course of the disease improved in one day and healed in three days; the heavier two days improved, and three to four days healed.
