Mushroom autumn mushroom management

1. Regulate the temperature difference between day and night. During the day, when temperatures are high, covering the mushrooms with a film can raise the internal temperature by 2–3°C compared to the outside. After 10 PM, the film is removed, allowing the temperature to drop quickly. This temperature fluctuation helps stimulate mushroom growth and development.

2. Maintain proper humidity in the mushroom bed. Once the color changes, keep the relative humidity around 85% in the early stages. As more mushroom buds begin to form on the cap and stem, the humidity in the air should be reduced to about 80% to prevent over-saturation and promote healthy growth.

3. Create a wet-dry cycle to encourage fruiting. In the early stage of autumn mushrooms, the mushroom tubes contain enough moisture to support the first flush of fruit bodies without needing to be submerged. After harvesting the first batch, stop watering, ventilate the area, and let the surface of the tubes dry for 1–3 days. Then, cover them again to raise the temperature inside, encouraging mycelial growth. After 2–3 days, white mycelium will appear on the remaining mushrooms. At this point, mist the area to increase humidity, ventilate, and encourage the next batch of mushrooms to grow.

4. Ensure good ventilation to reduce deformed mushrooms. When the temperature is above 23°C, ventilate in the morning and evening. If the temperature is between 18–23°C, one ventilation session per day is sufficient. When it drops below 17°C, ventilation can be done once daily to maintain air quality without affecting the growing environment.

5. Prevent bacterial infections to extend the lifespan of the mushroom tubes. Maintaining clean conditions, controlling humidity, and avoiding excessive moisture help reduce the risk of contamination. Regular monitoring and timely adjustments can significantly improve the overall health and productivity of the mushroom cultivation system.
