Mushroom autumn mushroom management
1. Manage the temperature difference between day and night. During the day, when temperatures are high, covering the mushrooms with a film can raise the internal temperature by 2 to 3°C compared to the outside. Once it's past 10 PM, remove the film to allow the temperature to drop quickly, helping regulate the growing environment.
2. Control the humidity in the mushroom bed. After the color change occurs, maintain a relative humidity of around 85% in the early stage. As more mushroom buds begin to develop from the caps and stems, the humidity in the space should be gradually reduced to about 80% to support healthy growth without excess moisture.
3. Create a proper wet-dry cycle. In the early stages of autumn mushrooms, the mushroom tubes contain enough water to support the first batch of fruit bodies, so there is no need to immerse them in water. After harvesting the first batch, stop watering, ventilate the area, and let the surface of the tubes dry for 1 to 3 days. Then cover the tubes again to increase the temperature and encourage mycelium growth. After 2 to 3 days, the remaining mushrooms will show white mycelium. At this point, mist the area to increase humidity and ventilate to promote the next batch of mushrooms to grow.
4. Ensure good ventilation to reduce deformed mushrooms. When the temperature is above 23°C, ventilate once in the morning and once in the evening. If the temperature ranges between 18–23°C, ventilation should still occur twice daily. When the temperature drops below 17°C, one ventilation session per day is sufficient to maintain air quality without causing stress to the mushrooms.
5. Prevent bacterial infections to extend the lifespan of the mushroom tubes. Proper hygiene, regular monitoring, and timely adjustments in humidity and temperature are essential to avoid contamination. By maintaining clean conditions and avoiding overwatering, you can significantly reduce the risk of bacterial growth and prolong the productivity of the mushroom cultivation system.
