Causes

Broiler breeding density is too large, lack of ventilation or ventilation is not correct, lack of drinking water, high temperature and humidity in the climatic conditions, are likely to cause broiler heat stroke.

Diagnosis of symptoms

The chickens with clinical symptoms presented with shortness of breath, panting, two wings wide open, drastically increased drinking water, reduced feed intake, severe cases could not stand, and death from prostration and convulsions, and most of them were obese chickens. There was a lot of water in the crop.

Changes in peri-arterial examination showed a bit of bleeding in the coronal fat, bleeding in the abdominal fat, thin blood in the epicardial and abdominal organs, deep coloration of the lungs due to respiratory failure, tracheal flushing, dissection of the cranial cavity, and bleeding in the brain.

Control methods

First, reduce the rearing density and reduce the amount of broilers per unit area. The standardized chicken house is recommended to raise 8 animals per square meter and 6 per square meter in the living room.

Second, increase ventilation, increase wind speed, and ensure good ventilation. In the current standardized chicken house, longitudinal ventilation is adopted in summer, and small inlets on both sides are required to be closed to open the large air inlet so that the chicken house can reach a certain wind speed. The wind speed reaches 2 meters per second and the body temperature of the broiler can be reduced by 6°C. For simple shelters, small fans can be installed for ventilation.

Third, cast anti-heat stress drugs and enhance anti-stress ability. In the feed plus vitamin C, 500 kg of material plus 100 to 150 grams; add baking soda, according to the proportion of 0.1%. At the same time, reduce the temperature of drinking water, drink deep well water, change the water frequently, and ensure sufficient drinking water.

Fourth, for chickens that have experienced heat stroke, they can be immersed in cold water, or immersed in cold water and blown with an electric fan. Evaporation of water can remove heat and reduce body temperature.
