Green shrimp breeding technology
Green prawns are one of the most important species in pond aquaculture. Producing high-quality seedlings is crucial for increasing yields, reducing disease outbreaks, and boosting profits, making it a key strategy in shrimp farming. May marks an ideal time for shrimp growth, and several technical steps should be taken to ensure success.
The nursery ponds should ideally cover an area of 3 to 7 mu (about 2 to 4.5 acres), with a depth of 1.2 to 1.5 meters and a slope ratio of 1:2.5. The bottom should be flat and well-drained. Shrimp ditches should be dug to facilitate harvesting, and the water inlet should be equipped with a 40- or 60-mesh sieve to prevent small fish and eggs from entering. Before stocking, the broodstock should be bathed for 7 to 10 days, and 50 to 75 kg of clear lime per acre should be used for disinfection.
Broodstock breeding typically begins in mid-May and lasts until late June. It's best to use wild shrimp from lakes, as they tend to be healthier and more vigorous. Ponds should be reserved for individual shrimps, ensuring they are large, disease-free, and free from injuries. Stocking density should be around 4 to 6 kg per acre.
Water quality management is essential. Initially, the water depth should be maintained at 50 to 60 cm. After introducing the broodstock, small amounts of micro-water should be added daily for 3 to 5 days to stimulate spawning. Once hatching occurs, 200 to 300 kg of fermented organic fertilizer per acre should be applied to cultivate plankton, serving as natural feed for the young shrimp.
Feeding broodstock involves using pellet feed made from barley, wheat bran, or green shrimp feed No. 2. The daily feeding amount should be 5% to 8% of the shrimp’s weight, divided into two meals—once in the morning and once in the afternoon. After hatching, larvae can be fed soybean milk, fish meal, and EM bacteria bio-agent in a ratio of 10:3:3. As they grow, they can also be fed barley and bran while swimming in the pond.
By early July, when the shrimp reach 1.2 to 1.5 cm in size, they can be harvested. If wild fish are present, 150 grams of Qingtang Ling per acre should be applied in 1-meter deep water on sunny days, followed by netting 5 to 7 days later. On average, about 500,000 healthy seedlings can be produced per acre, sufficient to support 6 to 7 mu of shrimp farming. This method ensures efficient and sustainable aquaculture practices.
In terms of design, pellet ovens usually use advanced temperature control systems and automatic feeding mechanisms, which can accurately control the cooking temperature, and continuously and stably supply fuel without manual frequent addition, greatly simplifying the operation process and improving the convenience of cooking. Its wide grill net and adjustable grill design make it easy to handle barbecue, grilled fish, grilled vegetables, baked bread, pizza and other delicacies to meet different tastes and cooking needs.
In addition, the pellet oven also has the characteristics of rapid preheating, which can reach the ideal cooking temperature in a short time, shorten the waiting time and improve the cooking efficiency. At the same time, its well-sealed furnace body design helps to lock the original flavor of food, so that the baked food is burnt outside and tender inside, and the taste is excellent.
Pellet ovens, as an efficient, environmentally friendly and versatile cooking equipment, have gained widespread popularity in outdoor barbecue, home cooking and even commercial kitchens in recent years. It cleverly uses biomass pellets as fuel, often pressed from wood, crop residues or other renewable resources, which not only burn efficiently, but also produce far less smoke and harmful gases during combustion than traditional charcoal or coal, realizing the concept of green cooking.
