Harbin Pharmaceutical Factory is located in the upwind outlet of the city. It releases odors and affects the surrounding universities, hospitals and residential areas. Why does the pharmaceutical factory emit odors? After the reporter entered the factory area, he noticed that the more unpleasant the scent became, the more he went to the factory area. A drug factory worker told the reporter that (odor) was running and leaking. Is odor only caused by leaking? The reporter investigated that the main cause of odor production was the high-level emission of waste gas during the fermentation process in the penicillin production plant of the pharmaceutical factory, and the absence of fully-enclosed exhaust emissions during the protein culture and drying process and the sewage treatment process.

Two years ago, many members of the CPPCC National Committee in Heilongjiang had jointly proposed this proposal and provided the results of air quality testing in the adjacent areas of the pharmaceutical plant. It was found that hydrogen sulfide gas exceeded the standard by 1,150 times. Ammonia exceeded the standard by 20 times, exceeding the national odor gas emission standards. Harbin Pharmaceutical Factory mainly produces penicillins and cephalosporins, and penicillin production belongs to fermented pharmaceuticals. The state has a clear stipulation on the limits for the discharge of pharmaceutical pharmaceutical water pollutants. The reporter found that even if the preparation plant is simply incinerated, it is sometimes carried out regardless of location. Some of the waste residue will flow into the river after simple incineration, and a large amount of waste residue will be dumped directly on the edge of the river.
