Three kinds of fish breeding in the autumn

After the autumn season, it's an ideal time to adjust the fish population density and grading. Choose a cool and stable weather period to carry out the process. Sort the fish in the pond based on their sizes: large (around 20 cm), medium (about 15 cm), and small (under 15 cm). Large fish should be moved to larger ponds with better conditions for polyculture, while medium and small fish can be kept in more controlled environments for intensive care. The stocking density is typically around 3,000 to 5,000 fish per pond with a depth of approximately 15 meters. Water quality management is crucial. Regularly monitor the water condition and apply fertilizers appropriately to maintain a healthy environment. Focus on feeding squid-like species, which require a balanced diet. In addition to monitoring water clarity and nutrient levels, ensure that the fish are well-fed with concentrated feed. Feed them twice daily—at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.—using bran, cakes, or compound feed. The recommended amount is 0.5 to 1 kg per 1,000 fish to support their growth and health. Disease prevention is especially important during fall, as this is when most fish diseases tend to spread. Grass carp disease, in particular, is one of the most dangerous and common issues during this time. If not managed properly, an outbreak can lead to significant losses. To prevent this, conduct regular inspections in the early morning, midday, and evening to observe fish behavior and feeding patterns. Follow the "three orders" of feeding: promptly remove leftover food, regularly clean and disinfect feeding areas, and use disease-prevention baits and apply preventive medications through water spraying. These practices will help maintain a healthy and productive aquaculture system.
