3D printing technology can help you measure blood sugar: no more fingers in the future!

<

The group of people with diabetes in our daily life is extremely large, and it is very difficult for patients to monitor their daily blood glucose. Blood samples are taken almost every time.

Although there are more convenient non-invasive blood glucose meters on the market, the high prices are completely unusable for a large number of patients.

But researchers at Washington State University have created a 3D printed glucose biosensor for wearable monitoring devices that provides a new way to more convenient blood glucose monitoring.

According to the official website of the university, they accurately measure the glucose level in sweat through biosensors, because it has been discharged by the skin, so it is more suitable for ordinary patients to carry out daily monitoring than traditional puncture finger blood sampling and embedded sensors.

It is reported that they use 3D printers to produce nano-scale materials with conductivity and flexibility, the precise method saves more materials (to reduce costs), and the biosensors produced are more sensitive than traditional electrodes.

Based on such monitoring devices, they are currently working to integrate this biosensor into a packageable wearable device for long-term blood glucose monitoring. The design can be as simple as a strap on the wrist, wirelessly connected to the smartphone to indicate and track glucose levels.

Double Packed Yellow Waxy Corn Cob

The most common waxy and sweet corn market, waxy corn nutrient content is higher than ordinary corn, contains 70-75% starch (and almost all amylose), more than 10% protein, 4-5% fat and 2% multivitamin, has more grain, VA, VB1, VB2 than rice protein, fat and VB2 highest content. Yellow corn also contains carotenoids like rice and wheat. The molecular weight of glutinous corn starch is more than 10 times smaller than that of ordinary corn. The starch makes glutinous rice sticky and soft, which is softer than that of ordinary hard corn. It has more than 20 percent more digestibility than regular corn and is suitable for people with irregular teeth. At the same time, the amylose (a polysaccharide) content is very high, not suitable for diabetics.

Waxy corn is also called sticky corn. The grain has a coarse, waxy endosperm that resembles a glossy, transparent grain, such as a hard, dented corn. Its chemical and physical properties are controlled by a recessive gene located on chromosome 9. 100% of the starch in the endosperm is amylose.
