Mixed rams and ewes have many harmful effects

<

Farmers used to mix rams and ewes for free mating. There are many harms to this practice, and there are mainly the following five:

First, it is unfavorable to grasp the best breeding time. The rams and the ewes are polycultured and will inevitably freely mate. This may lead to ewes' pregnancy and lambing throughout the year. This is not conducive to feeding and management, but also not conducive to the development of the fetus, the lambs produced are often poor physical fitness, low survival rate. In comparison, ewes produce better lambs in spring and winter, and winter lambs are better than lambs in spring. Lamb winter ewes are usually pregnant in July-August, when the grass is lush, the ewes are in good condition, ovulation is high, the conception rate is high, and the fetus is well developed; the lambs are catching up with the weather and warming when they are weaning. On the grass, the growth and development are fast, the wintering ability is strong, the survival rate is high, and the shearing amount is high. Therefore, it is advisable to keep the rams and ewes separate from each other. In the months from July to August, the ram and ewes are selected to mate. This will ensure that the ewes will produce lambs from December to January (winter). If the ewes produce lambs in the spring, both the ewes and the lambs can eat grass. Therefore, the ewes have enough milk, the lambs grow fast, and there is no need to purchase large amounts of feed, resulting in low cost.

Second, unfavorable grasp the best breeding object. Sheep are usually sexually mature at 7-8 months of age, but at this time they are not suitable for mating; in addition, older sheep and sick sheep are not suitable for breeding. Only healthy sheep aged 1.5-7 years are suitable for breeding. If the ram and the ewes are polycultured and freely bred, then the old, sick, sick, and young will all become pregnant. This not only seriously affects the treatment of old and sick ewes, but also results in a low survival rate of the lambs. It survives and grows slowly.

Third, can not make full use of improved rams. A ram can only mate 15-20 ewes. If male and female rams are allowed to mate freely, they will inevitably be inefficiently mated and will be redundantly re-aligned, which will lead to excessive consumption of rams' energy and shorten the useful life, resulting in waste.

Fourth, the blood of the offspring was unclear. Freedom of mating often leads to uncertainty as to which ram is the father of the lamb, resulting in near mating of offspring, loss of "hybrid advantage", and inherited genetic diseases.

Fifth, affect normal eating. The rams and the ewes are mixed together. The rams will chase the ewes so often that the sheep will not be at peace. The ewes cannot concentrate on feeding, thus affecting the growth and development of the ewes.
